Employment Opportunities

We are always glad to accept resumes from enthusiastic, hard working, dependable, team oriented people who wish to join our team of veterinary health care professionals.  Resumes will be reviewed by Dr. Lindsey personally and kept on file for two years.  Job descriptions for positions are given below. If you feel you might be a good candidate for any of the positions, please don't hesitate to mail your resume to us.

Positions for which we may, from time to time, have openings include:

RECEPTIONISTS
Because the receptionist gives  the first impression  of our hospital, it is extremely important this position is filled by someone who enjoys people and ensures exceptional client service.  Responsibilities include scheduling appointments, answering the telephone, setting up new clients and patients, preparation and maintenance of medical records, admitting and discharging patients, over the counter sales, mailings, computer operation, financial transactions, filing, and front office and reception area maintenance.

CERTIFIED VETERINARY TECHNICIANS & NURSES
Certified Veterinary Technicians (CVT) and Veterinary Nurses (trained on the job) are responsible for hospital maintenance, assisting the doctors, laboratory procedures, radiology, client communication, medical procedures, pharmacy, operation and maintenance of instruments and equipment, inventory, daily treatment of hospitalized patients, rehabilitation, assisting in the operating room and maintenance of the OSHA and Hazardous Materials programs.

VETERINARIAN ASSISTANT
The Veterinary Assistant will have a degree as a Veterinary Assistant or will have been trained at Clear Creek Animal Hospital or at another hospital as a veterinary assistant. The VA will assist the CVT and animal care attendant when needed.  Nursing skills will be taught to the VA and based on performance, attitude, interest and aptitude the VA may be promoted to Veterinary Nurse.

ANIMAL CARE ATTENDANT
The Animal Care Attendant is responsible for animal handling, bathing and grooming (when not scheduled with our groomer), feeding and walking.  In addition to hospital cleaning and minor maintenance, the ACA is responsible for  laundry and waste disposal.  Depending on the ACA's performance, attitude, interest, and aptitude they may be promoted to Veterinary Assistant.

VOLUNTEER
Regular volunteers must be 18 years of age or older.  Volunteers are usually individuals interested in a career in veterinary medicine.  Sometimes volunteers are those who wish to work with animals on a non-medical basis (cleaning cages, socializing, feeding, cleaning and brushing the animals).  Volunteers are supervised and trained to ensure their safety and the well-being of the animals.

OBSERVER
Occasionally a junior high or senior high school student finds it helpful to observe the operation of a veterinary hospital to aid in their career decision making.  We welcome a well behaved student to join us for a morning or even for a full day.  Every attempt will be made to explain to the student what they are seeing and why we do what we do.  The observer will have no direct contact with the animals.  A student wishing to observe should call our office manager, Carolyn, to schedule a time and date.
